Welcome to the Workshop!

The dawning of the age of personal genomics is upon us and together with a lot of help from friends I'd like to generate a resource for people to understand their genomes. I want to understand what genomic information means in terms of general probability, predisposition to various diseases, and future wellness.  My hope is that this resource comes together at the right time for people left in the dark by recent activities by the Food and Drug Administration.   Namely, the warning letter the FDA sent to the widely used 23&me direct-to-consumer personal genomics company in November 2013.

The goal with starting this blog is to compile an online resource list for people who may have access to their raw personal genome data but have no idea what to do with it. If you find yourself, like me, with a pile of personal genetic data in your lap and feel frustrated with the lack of useful information you can access, please join the conversation here on this blog. Perhaps we can build a better understanding together.

Sincerely,
Kristopher Hite
